Delaware By Charles Hatton -j 1 Handicap Luminaries Plans Now Undecided Atlantic City Executives in Conference Parlo and Company Going to Saratoga Springs DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 29. The Sussex here on Independence Day at genteel Delaware Park could engage High Gun, who has top weight of 134 pounds, but it seems more likely that he will start in Aqueducts Carter, in which he would meet his embattled rival, Helioscope, at level weights of 133 pounds. Bill Helis handsome son of Heliopolis vanned to New York early this morning to keep his appointment in the Carter, and trainer Howard Hausner tells us that the familiar Sammy Boul-metis will have the mount. Whether Helioscope will appear in the historic Brooklyn is another matter, Hausner noting that there is an alternative of running him in the Michigan Mile en route to California for one of Hollywoods richer events. The Suburban winner would get into the Michigan Mile with just 126 pounds. Fisherman is the second highweight in the Sussex vith 127 pounds, but he is just now hors de combat and cannot accept. Jet Action has 122 pounds and the filly Parlo is rated only two pounds inferior to Fisherman, considering her sex allowance, with an assignment of 120. The Foxcatcher filly, however, is pointing specifically for the 50,000 Delaware Handicap on Saturday. Her kinsman and stablemate, Chevation is a prospect under a mere 116. pounds, and Belairs fashionably bred Golden Gloves may be a starter with"112. The Sussex always has taken an entertaining amount of winning and to all present signs and portents this seasons will mark no exception. It is over the classical distance of a mile and a quarter and its previous winners include such as Marica, Pavot, Stymie; Cochise and the record-breaking Royal Vale, who carried 130 pounds and won the 53 renewal in 1:00. Plan Falls Triple Turf Classic - The directorate of the Atlantic City course met Wednesday, to discuss plans for the stakes-spangled meeting which opens on Aug. -9 and of which the "Triple Turf Classic" is the highest light. iThe -three events on the gentle, sweeping turf course have a comr bined value of some 00,000, with 0,000 guaranteed to the winner of the climactic United Nations of a mile and three-sixteenths oh Sept. 24. The nominations for the American Bred Stakes and Foreign Bred Stakes will close on. August 1 with the first four to finish in each of these novel features becoming automatically eligible for the United Nations. "Dr. Levys son; Bobby, now honeymooning in Europe, has been doing some missionary work in behalf of the Foreign Bred and United Nations. The resort club also is devoting some consideration to a special event in which High Gun and Helioscope, those two bitter rivals of the Suburban, may be brought together. Bill Helis? colt has achieved much of his fame in New Jersey racing, and a return engagement between the two sons of Heliopolis undoubtedly would lend racing at any course an added fillip of "box office." Willie duPont wrenched himself from his desk to make one of his infrequent appearances here the other afternoon and he doubtless will be on hand to see Parlos performance in Saturdays unique Delaware Handicap. The daughter of Heliopolis is one of three duPont transferred from Belmont Park to this pastoral course, and they are to rejoin their stablemates on Long Island following this meeting, proceeding to Saratoga Springs. Parlo, incidentally, has a half-brother, by Unbreakable, in the Foxcatcher string. He is named Passayunk, for a town near Philadelphia and while he was beaten in his lone start to the writing, it is entirely possible he will develop with more experience. The Delaware Handicap topweights training here is under the direct supervision of Dick Handlen, a conditioner of consummate experience who has been handling the duPont horses for many years. He is an infinitely patient horseman and has developed many fillies of the topnotch. In addition to Parlo there was Gaffery and Roseretta, Rosenna, Fairy Chant and Faberose. Parlo bulks least large of these, standing only about 15.1 hands at the wither, but she is far from the least capable. Dr. Lee May Start Entry in Delaware Turf ana: Dr. John Lee is seriously considering starting his own God Child and Bohemias Maid of Flight in Saturdays Delaware. Bohemia is owned by Mrs. Richard duPont. . . . Baron dOsten kindly calls attention to the fact we got our fingers crossed and called Caracalla a son of the unbeaten Corrida, the other day. Had him confused with Coaraze. . . . The 14 kt. gold cigaret boxes to be presented the winning owner, trainer and jockey in the Delaware are much admired in J. E. Caldwell and Co.s Wilmington window. . . . Joe Kramer is not too disappointed in the . rapid Smart Devil. . . . With 20 starters the Delaware will gross at least 57,000. . . . Were High Voltage to be returned the winner, she would accrue 0,000 in nominator and breeder awards. . . . Paul Cheffs Moot is one of the few of her sex now active through-the-field. . . . Ditto Mrs. Cordelia Mays Solisko. ... It is perhaps of only academic interest but High Gun is rated seven pounds superior to Fisherman in the Sussex, mile and a quarter Independence Day feature at this point. . . . Considering" the sex allowance, Parlo is weighted only two pounds below the 54 International winner . . . , J. Samuel Perlman, editor and publisher of the Daily Racing Fork, was a visitor from New York today.
