j I Magnolia Park to Seek Running Dates After Fair Grounds Closes NEW ORLEANS, La., June 29. New Orleans may have a flat racing season of 113 days the coming winter if. the plans of Blaise DAntoni, millionaire capitalist and sportsman, materialize. DAntoni has bought out the major portion of stock in Magnolia Park, which operated harness racing seasons before and after the Fair Grounds meeting. In announcing his purchase of the track from the syndicate which built it and operated it for two seasons, DAntoni said he would apply to the racing commission for dates eipbracing 30 days before the Fair Grounds opening next fall, for harness racing, and 30 days for flat racing after the close of the Fair Grounds, March 10. The track, an ultra-modern half-mile course, failed to build up local interest in the trots and DAntoni was able to buy most of the stock at a bargain. Magnolia Park is located up the Airline Highway 10 miles above" New Orleans. It has accommodations for 400 horses. DAntoni expects to make some sweeping improvements which will begin when and if his request for dates is granted.
