Pindari Out of Epsom Derby Due to Training Accident Special to Daily Racing Form LONDON, England, May 8 Reuters . — Queen Elizabeths Derby colt, Pindari, has met with a training accident and will not contest, the Epsom classic on June 3. Captain Charles Moore, the Queens racing manager, said today that Pindari trod on flint while being exercised yesterday morning. Pindari was third favorite for the Derby at the last call-over. The Queen may still have a runner in the race if her other entry, Above Suspicion, runs a satisfactory race in the Derby Trial Stakes at Lingfield Park in a fortnights time. Pindari came into classic reckoning when he won the Craven Stakes at Newmarket last month, although obviously still backward. He ran seventh in the 2,000 Guineas, but was expected to improve greatly by Derby time. Pindari is by the Derby winner, Pinza, out of Sun Chariot, one of the best fillies to race on the British turf in recent years.
