Major Dispersal Auctions Set for L. A. Fair Grounds Fasig-Tipton to Hold Vendues For George Brent, Helbush Farm POMONA, Calif., May 8. — Two major dispersal auctions, comprising broodmares, yearlings and weanlings, will be presented on the same day, Monday, June 22, at the Los Angeles County Grounds here, it was announced today by Robert F. Duffy, field agent for the Fasig-Tipton Co. of Calif. Ten broodmares, most of them in foal or with sucklings at side, and five yearlings will be offered in the complete dispersal of Mr. and Mrs. George Brent. Twenty-one mares, all but four either in foal or with 1959 foals at side, will be sold by the Helbush Farms. The Brents, who moved their breeding operation from Camarillo to Rancho Santa Fe a year ago, made the decision to disperse their holdings and lease their newly-appointed farm while they take an extended visit to Europe. Among the Brent offerings are such top producers as Alis Flirt, by *-Alibhai; Gold Decade, by *Alibhai; Mild Stimulant by Stimulus; Waterline, by Case Ace, and mares by *Djebel, Niccolo del Area, *Khal-ed, Petrose and Radiotherapy. The yearlings include a filly by *Alibhai — Waterline which is a full sister to the 2,500 colt which topped the 1958 Del Mar yearlings sales. „ Other yearlings are by Succession and El Drag. Most of the Brent mares are reported safely in foal to *Alibhai, ♦Grounded, Honeys Alibi, Poona II., Sturdy One or Succession. Included among the 21 Helbush matrons to be offered bidders are the dams of the stakes-winners Furyvan, Forverett and Coronia and sisters or half sisters to such top stakes stars as Royal Mustang, Royal Note, Great Dream, Phar Mon, Vicki Blue, Pats Own, Rado Kid, Nepotism, etc. Scheduled for the sales ring are daughters of *Noor, Solario, Good Ending, Challedon, Stardust, Balladier, Unbreakable, Grand Admiral, Papa Redbird, Easy Mon, etc. Seventeen of the mares will have foals at side or momentarily expected to produce and many have already been bred back to such stallions as Good Ending, *Poona TX, ♦Star of the Forest, Fortuneway, *Smeraldo and Solidarity. The sale will be presented under the auspices of the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association and catalogues may be obtained by writing the C.TJB.A., 201 Colorado Place, Arcadia, Calif.
