IN GATE— 2:02. OFF AT 2:02 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start- good. Won driving. MISS MANDEVILLE, outrun in the early stages, moved up fast between horses on the stretch turn, forced her way through between horses entering the stretch but didnt cause any interference, came inside the leaders in the last seventy yards to get up in the final strides. NO PUSHOVER took command midway of the backstretch, raced slightly wide entering the stretch and held on gamely but was not good enough. QUEEN OF SHEEBA raced ud on the outside on the far turn and finished fast throuqh the stretch. HI FI GAL • lacked early speed and was in slightly close quarters turning for home, finishing strongly on the inside. LEE COLE tired. The rider on HI FI GAL lodqed a claim of foul against the winner, which was not "allowed. LIKEWISE, wJell placed in the early stages, closed strongly rounding the final turn when placed on the outside, wore down the leaders "in the last sixteenth to win going away. ACTRESS MARCY took a short lead while on the inside in the first quarter and weakened "slightly when put to pressure in the last sixteenth. BONAPARTE worked his way up in the last quarter while on the inside. MICHE B. gave an even perfromance. LUCKY WILLIAM raced on the outside of the pacemaker to the stretch, then weakened. BAY LEAF had speed from the beginning, took command going to the far turn and drew out steadily under mild urging in the stretch. JAY D. M., close to. the pace from the start, held on with good courage while between horses. SNOW GLOW closed steadily while saving ground. BIG MILL raced on the outside throughout. The latter, slow to settle, closed a wide gap in the final quarter while on the outside. BONITA RITA improved her position while saving ground. LIME ROCK moved up on the outside to challenge on the backstretch and weakened in the last furlong. FERN B. gave an even performance. EPIRUS tired. CLASSIC RED, outrun in the first three-quarters, closed fast while saving ground to get the lead a sixteenth out and just lasted to hold PLEASURE SCOUT. The latter made up a lot of ground while racing on the far outside, was wearing the winner down m the closing strides. CHALALOR forced the pace to the stretch, then took a short lead but soon gave way to the winner. MORE TROUBLE made up some ground while between horses. MAGGIE McGRAW tired. BEAU JER was forced to take up to avoid a prostrate rider. LARKS MUSIC broke down on the far turn. MISS QUIBU stumbled and unseated her rider soon after reaching the backstretch. BLUE PLEDGE, slow to settle into best stride, closed with a rush while between horses after reaching the stretch, brushed WHIZ LADY, who was on the inside a sixteenth out but didnt impede her chances, and came on to outfinislr MONKO in the final strides. The latter moved up 4ast while on the inside to take command midway of the stretch and finished stoutly but failed to resist the winner. WHIZ LADY, a forward factor from the beginning, was bothered slightly a sixteenth out but appeared to be weakening under pressure at the time. KERRVILLE set the pace to midway of the stretch, then gave way. PATROL BOY tired. An inquiry was conducted into the running of the race and after viewing the film patrol picture the stewards decided that WHIZ LADY was a beaten horse when brushed by the winner and the numbers stood as originally posted. MARIBU, outrun for the first half mile, moved into the lead entering the stretch and held on under pressure to hold CALS CHOICE. The latter had the iead going down the backstretch and gave way to the winner while swinging slightly wide on the stretch turn and came again on the inside and under hard urging while wearing the winner down. JOHNS BID moved up steadily while saving ground. CAMELBACK made a strong move to take command on -the first turn and gave way on the far turn. RETOBADO II. was never prominent.
