OUR BOY JOHN, never far back, moved fast along outside to assume command on the stretch turn and drew well clear, while being ridden out CHERYL K. attempted to run out, rounding the first turn, was straightened away to continue on the outside and appeared to hang after making a menacing bid in the upper stretch. SHAPE UP loomed boldy from between horses on entering the stretch, but could not sustain his bid. TULSA TWIST was never a serious factor.
