Thille to Ride at Ak-Sar-Ben Meet OMAHA, Nebr., May 11. — Johnny Thille, a seasoned jockey at 18 and one of the top 10 riders at the 1953 Ak-Sar-Ben race meeting, is among the early jockeys to arrive in Omaha for the 35 -day Ak-Sar-Ben meeting, opening Thursday, May 19. Thille, whose home is in Scott City, Kan., enjoyed the best year of his young riding career in 1953, when he was the fourth-ranking jockey at Ak-Sar-Ben with a record of 15 wins, 15 seconds and 14 thirds. He also had his best riding day during the Ak-Sar-Ben meeting, when he was up on four winners. And he wound up the Omaha meeting with a smashing victory in the 0,000 Ak-Sar-Ben Handicap, piloting underdog Undone over the finish line ahead of such favorites as Auntie, Gunner Lad, Butch K. and En Fleur.
