Pearson En Route Home SHANNON AIRPORT, Ireland, May 6 Reuters. — Bill Pearson, who returned to California today, was a disappointed man because he was refused a license to ride in England during his stay. He said Lord Derby and Frank M. OFerrall made representations on his behalf, but without success and he thought the decision unjust. Had he ridden at Chester today, he would have been on Sixpence and the Lott, both of whom won. During his European visit, he had one ride in France, finished third. He said he will return to Ireland after the Hollywood Derby and will ride for P. Pren-dergast and hopes then to present his case and get an English license. OFerrall said tonight he understood The Jockey Club disliked the idea of issuing a temporary license to Pearson, but would have had no objection if he had been coming to ride for some time.
