The announcement was made by Don R. Millar, executive vice-president of The USTA, who stated that Cordovano had paid, 4,698.50 in purse money due owners and drivers following the ill-fated night harness race meeting at the Fort Miami track at that time. His suspension by the USTA followed. Today, Millar informed the State Racing Commission that Cordovano had paid the purses and that the lifting of his suspension was automatic. A few weeks ago, it came to light that Cordovana benefitted financially from the running races at Fort Miami in 1952 and this year due to a lease he held on the track. Edwin T. Keller, president and general manager of the Fort Miami running race meeting, came in for praise from O. C. Belt, chairman of the commission. Keller, who recently purchased the stock of Illinois legislator Carl H. Preihs, in the Fort Miami track, appeared before the commission. Belt told the other members of the Board; "Ed Keller is the kind of man we want in Ohio racing." The current Fort Miami meeting runs I through May 16.
