Algasir Is Topweighted At 122 at Suffolk Downs Special Nurse Seen Principal Threat to H. A. Kimball Racer SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 6. — Henry A. Kimballs Algasir will again attempt to make his 1953 bow here tomorrow in the ,000 Nahant Purse. The seven-year-old son of Sir Gallahad III. was scratched a few days ago in favor of a stablemate, Seaflash. The extra days of conditioning and the fact he is in a softer spot will not hurt the chances of the stakes-winning gelding, who is* slated to tote top weight of 122 pounds in the six-furlong allowance test. J. J. Nashs Special Nurse, a seasoned campaigner who flashed speed in all of her Florida appearances during the past winter, figures to offer stern competition and may be the stumbling block for Algasir to overcome. The New Moon filly has had a race over the track and, although she failed to impress, it may have been that she needed the race to limber up from the long journey north from Gulf stream Park. Special Nurse gets in the Nahant under a feathery impost of 105 pounds. Another who came here from Florida is Vicente and Navarros Hadnt Orter and she figures to improve off her lone Suffolk Downs outing. The daughter of Polynesian was a bang-up second to Circus Clown down south this past winter and followed that race with a couple of thirds behind formidable company. She is in tomorrow under an impost of 112 pounds. The field for the Nahant is completed with J. G. Hills Our Dorie, Felix M. Ponce-lets Exemplar, Little Step, owned by the partnership of Purtiment, Caval and Ch- mura; G. Dimesticos Nitro Dugan, T. P. Morgans Plus Fours, and Palatine Stables Option. Of the above group, Exemplar and Our Dorie appear to have the best chance to extend the top figure horses. Exemplar was always a threat in this type of race during his 1952 campaign and, although the Hoop, Jr. gelding has failed to impress in four starts this season, he should be showing signs of improvement. Our Dorie was a stout-closing second to Pictus in the mud here last week and off that race alone must rate consideration. Option finished second twice in a row at Bowie, but both times was racing under a claiming price of ,000 and ,500 respectively. Plus Fours last start was at Garden State Park and in that race the Morgan speedster displayed speed for a half mile before racing wide and being eliminated.
