Kent Will Be First National Telecast in State of Delaware STANTON, Del., May 6. — Delaware Parks 5,000 Kent on June 13, one of the series of 10 major eastern stakes events being featured on a coast-to-coast hook-up by NBC-TV and ABC radio on successive Saturdays, will mark the first nationwide telecast ever to emanate from the state of Delaware. It will involve the biggest crew of engineers and other experts in the history of Delaware Park. The screening and airing of the Kent and other races in the series of 10 will not conflict with Delaware Parks annual series of 30-minute "in the public interest" broadcasts which will again be carried noh-commercially by five Delaware radio stations on the six Saturdays during the May 29-July 4 meeting. These programs, featuring outstanding Delaware races, also are devoted to leading state charities or service organizations, as in the past. To avoid time conflict with the NBC-ABC series of 10, which are aired from 4 to 4:30 p. m. EDT, the "public interest" broadcasts will be from 4-30 to 5, this being accomplished by Delaware Park s stakes on all Saturdays except June 5 H£? placed sixth on the card instead of fifth. On June 13, a good secondary feature will be the sixth race and the Kent will be fifth.
