j — Red Fiddler Trying for Fifth Purse of Year in Market Wise Bishop Campaigner to Havet Six Rivals in Sportsmans Test; Regard Shikar Threat SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., May 6. — William Hal Bishop, whose horses have won 20 races during the first 14 days at this meeting, appears to have better than a royal chance to collect first money in the feature race here tomorrow. He will start Red Fiddler, well named son of King Cole — Red Duster, by Sweep All, in the seven-furlong Market Wise Purse. Red Fiddler has connected four times this year, once at this meeting and on three occasions at New Orleans, and his most recent race in which he was an easy victor at seven -eighths gives indication that he is in good condition. Red Fiddler will have a half dozen rivals in the Market Wise, chief of which seems to be Shikar, who will bear the silks of the Margo Stable. Shikar is also a winner here but ran for a claiming price of ,500 less than for which the Bishop runner competed. Shikar, who scored that success in the Bishop silks and was claimed by the Margo outfit, traveled one one -sixteenth miles to conquer Burnt Look and others. Shikar also won a pair at the Fair Grounds, New Orleans. With the exception of Raging Tide, owned by James C. Ellis, none of the others have visited the charmed circle this season. Raging Tide took an allowance event at Sunshine Park in March, but has failed several times since this meeting began. In his last outing the Ellis racer was fourth in an allowance event taken by Set Shot and prior to that was third to Hope Hull and Mr. Emile. Mr. Emile, owned by D. Pailet, ran a pretty fair race in being second to Hope Hull. The colt won a single race last year. As for the others in the Market Wise, Frosty Face, who will race for W. C. Tackett, finished fifth in the race in which Raging Tide was fifth in that one. Others in the field are Head East, owned by Grace Kosiba, and Possess, from the Woodwin Stable. Head East has a couple of starts here and has been unplaced. Possess has had one second here in several attempts. With the exception of Raging Tide and Shikar, who will haVe 105 each up, all contestants in the feature will carry 110 pounds, and jockey Harold Keene, leading rider here, will be up on Red Fiddler. With a continuance of good weather the track may be fast for the first time in about 10 days.
