Fitzsimmons; bred by Wheatley Stable. IN GATE-5:09. OFF AT 5:09 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. ALTERNATIVE was taken back slightly from the pace after a quarter mile, came to the outside to regain command midway in the final furlong and briskly drew clear. POT HUNTER worked his way forward to take command nearing the furlong marker, then was unable to cope with the winner when the real test came. DAIRCHEE, forwardly placed throughout, failed to properly respond when called upon for his best effort. TURF SUN made up some ground when hard hustled through the late stages. LOVELY WAVE tired. PEDDIE, knocked back at the start, was hustled into contention early, then faltered when set down for the drive. SENTIMENT never threatened. QUITE HAPPY, forced to take up sharply when impeded entering the backstretch, was unable to recover. Scratched 18831 Inscopo, 116. Attendance 22,095; Total Mutuel Pool, ,799,286.
