Ford Native of Wyoming AQUEDUCT, L. I., N. Y., June 14. The Bob Ford who rode Near Shore to victory in Saturdays third is a 33-year-old little man who was born in Torrington, Wyo., broke his maiden at Phoenix in 51. After winning 12 races at Santa Anita last year he went to Longacres, where he led the riders with 53 or 55 victories, he says. He came east with George State. He can do 108 pounds. His early life was spent on his fathers ranch, where horsebacking was necessary to life. Horsemen who wintered in California predict that he will not have any difficulty making the eastern grade.
