IN THE MARKET, unhurried during the early running, -was steadied when in close quarters on the final turn, was taken outside for the drive and butfinished SPARED. The latter moved boldly to the leaders nearing the stretch, fought it out gamely and just missed. LUXURY TAX moved from just off the pace to attain command on the final turn, drew clear to the furlong pole and weakened. TRUXTON was never a threat THE SLIP saved ground while with the pace and quit. BARBARA BELLE flattened out badly after six furlongs. RAMBLEWOOD quit badly. WHITE HACKLE went lame. The latter was slow to respond and was gaining in the final strides. BEAUTY MISS set and pressed the pace into the stretch and fought it out willingly. WORTH A BIT gave way in the drive. The latter was quite wide while attaining a slight lead, then was not good enough. Godkins claim of foul against ACHILLES for alleged interference through the stretch was disallowed. WAC outfinished the others. WINGING ALONG failed to threaten. PRINCE COLE showed nothing. ONEINAMILLION quit, as did REPUDIATE. STEADY ACE flattened out badly and appeared in distress.
