Eugene Constantin Stable Arlington Park Arrival Royal Bay Gem Heads String Checking In From Belmont Park Royal Bay Gem, star of the Eugene Constantin, Jr., stable, headed a 20-horse unit that arrived at Arlington Park Monday afternoon. The string shipped from the current Belmont Park meeting under the care of trainer Clyde Trout. The unit, part of which races for Con-stantins wife, includes five three-year-olds and 14 unraced but well-bred two-year-olds. Several in the well-conditioned string have been named for Arlingtons future stakes. The Dallas, Tex., oilman has maintained eligibility on Royal Bay Gem to the 60,-000 Arlington Handicap, which will be run July 31 over a mile and three-sixteenths grass route. Also, two colts have been named for the 55,000 Arlington Classic July 17. They are Bushers Beam, a bay by Mr. Busher Guiding Light, and We Wonder, son of Ambiorix Black Wave. Through last year, Royal Bay Gem earned 01,970. His 1954 stakes record shows a victory in the Laurel Handicap and a third in the McLennan Handicap. The four-year-old Royal Gem II. Bayadere colts greatest season was 1953, when he captured the Everglades Handicap, Chesapeake and Jersey Stakes, Preak-ness Prep and Peabody Memorial. He also had a second in the Flamingo and thirds in the Preakness, Belmont Stakes and Fountain of Youth Handicap to his credit. Constantins juvenile contingent includes Brilliant Gem, Ocean Wave and Our Prince, all candidates to the 50,000 Arlington Futurity. A pair of fillies, Gem of Gems and Clear Cut, are being pointed for the 05,000 Arlington Lassie Stakes. Accompanying Trout was jockey Jimmy Combest. For the past few years the Constantin stable has had first call on the Kentucky reinsmans services. All Constantin runners will be ready for Arlingtons opening-day program, June 24.
