: Seven to Contest Lincoln Feature Gushing Oil, The Eagle, Adams Off Ox and Koritza Clash at Mile, Sixteenth LINCOLN FIELDS, Crete, HI., June 14. Seven good middle distance runners, three of whom are candidates for the 0,000 Lincoln Handicap next Saturday, have been entered for the Kraft Purse, feature attraction on Tuesdays program at Lincoln Fields. The distance of the Kraft is a mile and one-sixteenth, same as the Lincoln Handicap on the forthcoming week end. Lincoln Handicap eligibles named for Tuesdays feature are Sam E. Wilson Jr.s Gushing Oil, Walmac Farms Adams Off Ox and Mrs. H. L. Nathensons Force of Arms. Their rivals for the ,500 purse are Bud-das Stables Dance Nsing, H. C. Fruehauf s The Eagle, John F. Becks Koritza and William Hal Bishops Challcote. The recent form of the last named three indicates that the Lincoln Handicap candidates have no monopoly on the Tuesday feature, even among themselves. In fact, three of the non-eligibles for the stake are all winners this season, while the. three Lincoln candi dates have yet to enter the winners circle this year. However, Gushing Oil and Adams Off Ox have been raced sparingly so far this season, while Force of Arms has started only six times. Conditions of the race, which is fashioned for four-year-olds and older horses which have not won ,625 twice in other than maiden or claiming races in 1954,. require the six-year-old The Eagle to carry the top weight, 117 pounds, which will include jockey Steve Brooks. All the others have 108-pound imposts. The Eagle, a good winner last year, has won two races this season, one of which was a claiming race from which he was claimed for 0,000. This was at Gulfstream Park on March 8. He had won an allowance race at Hialeah earlier in January. In his lone race at Lincoln Fields the gelded son of Grand Admiral LOiseau Bleu finished second to the grand filly, Arab Actress, on June 9. Gushing Oil Former Stake Winner Gushing Oil, one of the best horses acquired by Wilson, the Texas oil tycoon, since he entered the sport some years ago, is a former stakes winner, his victories at three including the local associations Peabody Memorial in 1952. The five-year-old chestnut stallion has started only three times this year. He was fourth in his first two starts in Kentucky. On May 24 he finished fifth to Mimi Mine here at Lincoln Fields. The son of Easy Mon Dulcet on Sunday turned in his .best work of the year when he stepped three-quarters in 1:13 handily over the local track, which has been faster the past two days than any time since the meeting opened. This was indicated by several other-good moves, including those of the five-year-old "mare, Gala Fete, the six-year-old Spur On, and the two-year-old Munchausen, all of whom clicked, off five furlongs in :59, only two-fifths from the track record. The six-year-old gelding Adams Off Ox has started only twice this year, both at this meeting. He was beaten a neck by Blue Dare and Abbe Sting in a blanket finish at a mile and one-sixteenth on May 21 and five days later finished fourth to Bumper Crop. Koritza has improved steadily all spring. In three starts at this meeting the Heliopo-lis gelding has won two and finished second to Tuonine in the other. In the latter race, Challcote was third. Force of Arms has started four times at this meeting, improving each time. In his latest effort he finished third to Arab Actress and The Eagle on June 9.
