BROWNSKIN, close up while forcing the pace, gained the lead inside the final furlong, but was not good enough. TRAVELER moved out to take command before a quarter mile, was unable to shake off challenger and faltered near the end. EVEREST, reserved within striking distance of the leaders, swung to the extreme outside on the final turn, made up ground readily and was drawing out under pressure NO SKIS moved up on the outside to gain a forward position after five furlongs, came inside on the final turn, vied for command, but was not good enough. BUZZ A BIT, under stout restraint and saving ground, moved clear entering the stretch and faltered. JACKS NEEN, forwardly placed from the start, gained command after six furlongs and flattened out. REEDY CREEK, taken back off the pace and steadied, failed to rally when roused. MR. F. went along with the pace for six furlongs and weakened. PROMPT BOY showed speed to the final turn and weakened. SAILING HIGH showed nothing. CHAIN TONGS nearly went o his knees Jeaving the gate, worked his way up into contention and faltered. PINOCCHIO moved clear soon after the start, dominated the pace under steady rating, had something left when challenged and continued on gamely to outfinish STEPENMATE. The latter raced in close attendance o fthe leader under steadying restraint, moved up on the outside when roused, challenged determinedly, but was not good enough. USUAL rallied after seven furlongs, came to the middle of the track for the drive, but was unable to reach the leaders. CONNIE RAB had no mishap. TAPE READER was roused after six furlongs, moved nearer to the leaders along the inside and flattened out in the drive. THE MINOR raced very wide and was never a factor. BRICK weakened after forcing the pace. MISS SUBLIME weakened after seven furlongs. PERFECT SWEEP moved up on the outside was unable to reach the pace and flattened out. SAILOR LAD showed nothing.
