Won driving; second and third the same. BEST AIR was allowed to settle into best stride, moved along rapidly on the turns and was along to outfinish CROSS RING in the final strides. The latter gained the lead at the start, saved ground on the turns and hung on tenaciously through the late stretch. MR. JETT steadily improved his position. SHAMROCK, well back in the early going as usual, made a belated bid from the outside, but could not threaten the top ones. SHAG TAILS was always on the outside of horses. THE VEEP tired after forcing CROSS RINGS early pace. BIG MONEY quit WHIFFENPOOF was never a factor. WOLF GAL loomed a stout factor midway along the backstretch, was caught in close quarters and had to be taken back to last position. COLUMCILLE was done early. LORD READING raced evenly. .BOOKWORM passed tiring horses. BELLEVUE JOE showed nothing. BUNKER TIRED. WHITE BRAND was through early.
