Sickles Image Works Half Mile in :47y5 May Go in Rose Leaves Saturday; Princess Trace, Mad Hare Drill DETROIT RACE COURSE, Livonia, Mich., June 14. Clarence Hartwicks homebred mare, Sickles Image, who may go to the post here next Satin-day afternoon in. the 0,000 Rose Leaves Stakes, turned in an unusually clever speed test at the local track Sunday morning. Paced by Miss Oxford, the stakes-winning Sickles Image sped four furlongs in AIVs, handily, pulled up satisfactorily after her drill. Mrs. George C. Whites Princess Trace, a Rose Leaves Stakes probable, was on the fast strip this morning and stepped three-eighths of a mile in :36and; handily, while G. Y. Bookers Mad Hare breezed a half mile in :49. The latter mare, who prefers a fast, course for her top performance, hasnt raced to peak form in recent outings, due to track conditions she didnt particularly relish. Mrs. V. E. Smiths Lori-Jane and A. P. Schiro, Jr.s Princess Folly, neither of them Rose Leaves nominees, also worked smartly today. Lori-Jane went five-eighths of a mile in 1:00 handily, after registering the following fractions, quarter in :23, three furlongs in :35 and the half in : 47 and while Princess Polly drilled a like distance in 1:01, handily.
