Ben Sorrensen Has Unusual Background for Race Rider MONMOUTH PARK, Oceanport, N. J,, June 14. Ben Sorrensen, who rode Rappahannock Farms Senga in the fifth race today, has one of the most unusual backgrounds of any rider in America. This was Sorrensens first mount at an American race track, but he rode two races in Denmark a couple of seasons back and has been around horses for two and one-half years. A native of Copenhagen and 19 years old, Sorrensen is an acrobat, a member of the Tukayer troupe which has appeared on many television programs, including Toast of the Town, Comedy Hour, Big Top and Super Circus. Young Sorrensen also has worked with Mickey Rooney, Betty Hutton and other movie and stage personalities. The youngster is under contract to Rappahannock Farms, owned by Charles Steiner. In between his saddle efforts, Sor rensen entertains the other riders at Monmouth Park by standing on his hands on pool tables, showing the boys how to tumble and if Monmouth had a teeter board, hed perform on that. He came to this country in 1952.
