IMBROS took command at once, made the pace under good rating, saved ground and held DETERMINE safe in the drive. The latter held his position to the second turn while under restraint, made his move on the outside and could not get to the winner. HIGH SCUD was slow to begin, started to advance after five-eighths while racing wide and was much the best of the others. BERSEEM raced a trifle wide and could not get to the leaders. PET BULLY saved ground, but failed to threaten. FLEET BIRD lacked speed and gave a dull performance. LAUGH IN LOUIE had speed, held on to the stretch and gave way. FLEET KHAL was through after five-eighths.
