BLUE ROGER moved to contention after going a quarter and, coming to the outside of BURSTIN BUBBLE in the stretch, wore her down to win under pressure. BURSTIN BUBBLE went to the front early, continued well after being headed by SYBLANN, then again took command nearing the stretch turn to save ground and respond weli in the stretch. LITTLE BURDEN made up ground on the outside. CAMPESINO also raced rather wide. MILNICK was unable to keep up. LALLA R00KH moved up nearing the stretch turn, but faded in the run home. PRESIDENT, outrun early, came to the inside in the stretch and was gaining rapidly at the end. SKY HALL was never too far removed and finished steadily. BICKY L. closed steadily. The latter came to the outside rounding he stretch turn and made a fairly good bid in the stretch. The latter had speed while racing under light restraint on the outside, but weakened near the end and was doing her best to save second place. COUNTRY BUMKIN was outpaced early, but was not unduly rushed, then moved up between horses in the stretch and, passing RESPLENDENT in the last sixteenth, won going away. KING PHALANX was slow to begin and trailed for a quarter, then moved up on the outside rounding the stretch turn and finished fast to nip RESPLENDENT in the closing strides. The latter drew into a good lead after shaking off JAY JAY GEE, but weakened in the final sixteenth. THUNDERBIRD went evenly, but was never dangerous. MR. BLUE TEAL made a good, move on the outside nearing the far turn, then dropped back slightly nearing the stretch turn, but came strongly in the last furlong to get to the front and won under pressure. DOWN YONDER challenged for the- leadership on the-stretch turn and got to the front between calls in the stretch, then went well to the end. I FROO saved ground on the stretch turn to show in front momentarily when straightened out in the stretch, but faltered near the end. BE SWAYED, racing well up on the inside, was caught in close quarters on the far turn when unable to find an opening and lost all chance. WISEVIEW failed to be a serious contender.
