GALLANT SPEED, much used early, had little left. CERTAIN LADY and FIGHTING BYRNE were outrun. CALGARY never was dangerous. PAPA CAT, fractious at the post, began sluggishly and never threatened. DULAT was under slight restraint during the early running, responded readily when roused to assume a lengthy lead nearing the final hurdle and though tiring slightly during the concluding strides, held CARTHAGE safe. The latter worked his way forward to attain the runner-up position leaving the final turn and, responding to punishment during the late stages, gradually was getting to the winner. KING GAVIN, slow to attain best stride, was unable to improve his position when uar, hllei .trough lhe late stages. BOIS WINDSOR failed to respond when set down for the ultimate test HILL TIE drifted very wide on the final turn and was unable to recover. QUICK RESULTS was unable to keep up and returned in a slightly lame condition. EPONBUSH was unable to be sternly persevered with when his saddle slipped early in the running. TRAIL OF GOLD tired. WILD CHORUS recovered readily to assume a slight lead after stumbling leaving the gate, increased his advantage nearing the furlong marker and continued on gamely thereafter when subjected to brisk urging. INKYANK, never far removed from the pacemaker, responded readily when shaken for the stretch run and closed with good courage in a sharp effort. TARQUITANA steadily improved his position to the stretch and, remaining in the middle of the track for the stretch run, closed with a belated burst of speed. CAREER BOY closed z gap when hard ridden through the final furlong. CODOMO, shuffled back on the far turn, was unable to recover. POINT OF ORDER was unable to attain the lead and tired. BELLUNO remained next to the inner rail while racing forwardly to the furlong marker, was unable to seriously endanger the leaders when shaken for the drive, but finished willingly to easily prevail over the others. OIL PAINTING, a sharp factor from the start improved her position on the outside to reach the lead on the final turn, drifted out slightly curving into the stretch, but continued on gamely when straightened and retained a clear advantage over GOD CHILD The latter, always within striking distance, moved up with a rush to attain the runner-up position at the furlong marker, but was unable to overtake the winner when briskly ridden through the late stages. CANADIANA never far back while racing between horses, was in slightly close quarters during the eearly stretch run, then closed determinedly when clear. SOMETIME THING, away in the first flight, failed to respond sufficiently when set down for the final test. BLACK MAIN recovered readily after stumbling slightly soon after the start came to the inside for the stretch run, but under stern pressure, was not good enough. DISPUTE was unable to gain the lead and tired. MISS WEESIE was through after five furlongs. OLD BAASKET and QUEENS BEECHES were always outrun. SEVENTH RACE 1 1-16 MILES. W00DBR00K, forced to take up slightly when in close quarters leaving the gate, was compelled to be steadied when between horses on the first turn, came out to the middle of the track to take the lead when ready nearing the furlong marker and briskly drew clear. HULA HULA saved ground next to the inner rail while racing forwardly placed to the stretch, but faltered when punished thereafter and was unable to cope with the top one. ROSEY MISS, slow to reach best stride closed with a belated burst of speed in a good effort. RICHES, forced wide on the first turn, drifted- out curving into the stretch and, under stern punishment, was unable to overtake the leaders. SONNY MARS tired. SACANDAGA had no apparent mishap. DOVER DOLL, unhurried when outrun early was sent into closer contention leaving the final turn, replaced LITTLE HERMAN with a rush when ready "inside the stretch and increased her advantage under intermittent pressure. LITTLE HERMAN raced SUPERUPPER into defeat to take command after a half mile, held sway to the stretch under steady rating, but was unable to be sternly persevered with through the final furlong when his rider lost his whip. BORDER SON failed to make up appreciable ground when hard hustled through the late stages. DUSTY DRIVE moved up menacingly entering the stretch, but faltered when punished. MUEZZIN, fractious at the post, came out for the drive, but was not good enough. COSMOS was unable to keep up. SUPERUPPER was through after six furlongs. MIDYEAR Wcis outrun.
