Trabert, Seixas, Patty Lead U. S. Advance at Wimbledon WIMBLEDON, England, June 20 UP. Tony Trabert, Vic Seixas and Budge Patty the three Americans seeded in the mens singles at the Wimbledon Tennis championships led 12 Yanks into the second round today as the two-week tournament opened before more than 23,000 fans. Trabert, the 24-year-old Cincinnati star who is top-seeedd and a 7-to-4 choice to win the worlds most coveted tennis title, opened with a 63, 6 4, 62 victory over Australias Mai Anderson. Tony has been hampered by a tender palm, but appeared at Wimbledon .without his racquet hand taped for the first time in two years. Seixas, the U. S. champion from Philadelphia who is seeded third, barely worked up a sweat in the humid, threatening weather. The 1953 champion needed just 40 minutes to oust Arthur Clayton of England, 63, 60, 60. Patty, the 1950 champion from Los Angeles and Paris is seeded seventh, eliminated George Druliner of Los Angeles, 6 4, 63, 61. Nine other Yanks joined Trabert, Seixas and Patty in the second round. But two "name" Americans Ham Richardson of Baton Rouge, La., and Gardnar Mulloy of Miami, Fla. were ousted. In all, seven Americans were beaten.
