i . ! J i i Saturdays Ohio Derby Adds Th ree Contenders Blazing Count, Honeys Alibi and Traffic Judge Now at ThistleDown THISTLEDOWN, North Randall, Ohio, June 20. Three of the strongest contend-J ers for top honors in the twenty-first running of the Ohio Derby at this track next Saturday arrived over the week end. Joining others in his outfit here was Blazing Count of the Barclay Stable. The roan colt was second to Nashua in the 00,000 Belmont Stakes in his most recent outing and vanned in from Delaware Park. Blazing Count has won three races during his comparatively short career and has earned 2,450 of which 0,000 was for his Belmont effort. Eric Guerin is expected to come to Thistle to ride the colt and trainer Russell Downs will check in within the next few days. Heading a small draft from Chicago was Honeys Alibi,, victor over 16 other- crack three-year-olds in the 0,000 Chicagoan last Saturday. Don Scurlock has again been engaged to handle the W L Ranch representative and trainer Joe Inzelone came in with the horse. Earlier this year Honeys Alibi finished first in the Preakness Prep at Pimlico and also won the Discovery Handicap at Santa Anita. Another arrival from Washington Park was Traffic Judge, beaten favorite in the Chicagoan. Though whipped, the Clifford Mooers colorbearer was not disgraced since he broke from the number 17 post position in that one mile test. In previous outings Traffic Judge won over Nances Lad in the Withers and finished third in the Preakness behind Nashua. Eddie Arcaro is ex- ; pected to have the mount in the Ohio Derby. Trainer Woody Stevens is expected Wednesday.
