BLACK BILLINGS saved ground while improving position to the stretch, raced BRIGHT CHARGE into defeat and, drew clear while under brisk urging. AIR PINE lacked early foot but closed strongly in the middle of the track. HIGH AUTHORITY, away sluggishly and outrun to the stretch, finished willingly when set down in the drive but could not seriously threaten the top pair. HOKEY POKEY raced forwardly placed to the last eighth, then weakened. JANDY could not keep up. ROLL BAMA, forced to take up when caught in close quarters approaching the stretch, failed to recover. BRIGHT CHARGE began fast, set the pace to the last eighth, then gave way. CIMMERONA had early foot but failed to stay. RUNACROSS could not keep up and raced wide through the stretch. ALIE-ED raced well to the stretch but failed to rally when set down for the drive. PRINCE CONSORT began sluggishly and was never prominent. RED ROCK showed nothing. GUMPTIOUS tired.
