DRY MARTINI, held under light restraint while being outrun early, raced on the outside to the stretch, was sent up between horses and wore down PHANTOM EYE in the closing strides. The latter had speed from the start, raced along the inner rail and just failed to last. MISS GWENDOLYN, prominent from the start, was brought to the outside on the final turn, started drifting out while under pressure in the early stretch and hung slightly in the final drive. ONWARD saved ground to no avail. TRILLION was through early. SICKLE ROSE was never a factor. YOUNG GANDER showed brief early speed. SWAMPLAND made all the pace under good rating, saved ground much of the way, turned back MOFLAME when roused in the stretch and then had enough left to outlast BRIARS RED. The latter was never far bacc, raced on the outside to the stretch and, Under pressure, moved up boldly between horses and finished strongly while in slightly close quarters. BOSS H, far back for the first half mile, came wide when rallying and finished full of run. RUGGED ODDS raced slightly wide and found his best stride too late. MOFLAME flattened out after making a menacing bid through the early stretch. JACK JAY saved ground to no avail.
