- Nashua Works Mile In 1:40, Handily Belair Colt Being Kept on Edge for Dwyer on July 2; Getthere Jack Also Drills AQUEDUCT, L. I., N. Y., June 20. Beelair Studs Nashua and Lily-Ann Stables "s Getthere Jack, the favorites for the Dwyer and Tremont Stakes here, were both on the local strip for easy trials this morning. Nashua, who looks a prohibitive choice for the Dwyer at a mile and a quarter on July 2, assuming that he doesnt have a walk-over in that stake, went a mile in 1:40 in handy style, gettings the fractions. in :36, :49, 1:02, 1:14 and 1:26 with Bill McCleary in the saddle at something like 150 pounds. Getthere Jack, who has won. six of his eight starts and won his last here at Aqueduct in fast time while under a snug hold, also will be a strong favorite in Wednesdays Tremont at five and a half furlongs. This morning he merely breezed a half in :52. .Hedley Woodhouse will ride the Bim-elech gelding in the local stake. Nantallah Goes Easy Six Furlongs Startmount Stables Nantallah, who has been freshened during recent weeks, went an easy six furlongs in 1:16 here this morning. The son of Nasrullah is eligible to the Tremont, but may not be seen under silks before the Saratoga meeting. Eddie Holton also sent Vestment and Big Mark the same distance in 1:16. They appeared to require a little more urging than their juvenile stablemate. Over at Jamaica, Cary Winfrey sent High Tide Stables Fabulist and Dedicate easy miles. Fabulist is eligible to Saturdays Edgemere Handicap at a mile and a furlong, and is also in the richer Carter at seven furlongs on July 4 and the Brooklyn at a mile and a quarter on July 9. Dedicate is eligible to the Dwyer, but not expected to fill that engagement. The most impressive trial seen on the main track at Belmont Park this morning was the mile in 1:38 turned in by Green-tree Stables Straight Face. The son of Count Fleet, who won last years Suburban, disappointed in his first two starts this year, but seems now to be back in his best form. His fractions this morning were :23and, :47, 1:12, 1:25. and he was eased up a mile and a furlong in 1:51. John Gavers charge promises to be formidable if sent postward in the Edgemere. He is not eligible to the Carter, but is in the Brooklyn. Racing Fool Works a Mile Cain Hoy Stables Racing Fool, who may oppose Nashua in the Dwyer, turned in a powerful mile on the deep training track this morning, finishing strongly in 1:42 after fractions of :50 andl:15. Sunday morning, King Ranchs High Gun, the probable favorite for the Carter, in which he may again meet Helioscope, who narrowly beat him when getting five pounds in the Suburban, breezed seven furlongs in 1:29, easing up a mile in 1:42. This son of Heliopolis, who was not asked for any display of speed, stepped the fractions in :27, :52 and 1:16. Also on Sunday morning, Foxcatcher Farms brilliant little Parlo went an impressive seven furlongs in 1:26, easing up a mile in 1:40. The hard-hitting daughter of Heliopolis, who set a track record for a mile and a sixteen h in the Top Flight Handicap last out at Belmont, went the quarter in :23, half In :47 and six panels in 1:12. She is pointing for the rich Delaware Handicap at the end of the month.
