BETTY BARR, in good position while on the outside, moved up to be clostest to the pace o: the turn, displaced SOLAR SYSTEM in the stretch and won fully extended. LUCIETE was a sharp contender from the outset and held on well until the end in a game try. SOLAR SYSTEM drew into a clear lead along the backstretch and came to the rail, made the pace until mid-stretch and faltered slightly. SUBITA lacked speed to be in a contending position early and closed with good courage. PINELET saved ground and had no excuse. SWEET JOSIE was within striking distance on the inside and failed to respond for the drive. WOLF GAL was prominent on the rail and weakened after the opening half-mile.
