GRAND RAPIDS was alertly ridden to dispose of early contention, drew out rapidly in the last furlong and was an easy winner. TEN SECONDS was hustled .showing good speed into the stretch, weakened in the final stages, but lasted to best TONNIA. The latter worked forward between horses and finished with good-ourage. PEGMURF began well and gradually weakened. HOLIDAY TIME lacked speed from the gate and was in close quarters on the turn. TAMBOUR broke slowly, rushed into contention, then drifted out and tired on the final turn. CALL MARS was not prepared and went in the air at the break. LITTLE DONOTS was well ridden picking spots to improve position through the field, came outside the top pair wresting command in the stretch and won rapidly going away. WICKED SUSAN began alertly, was hard urged challenging BAY VENUS after the initial three furlongs and offered no resistance to the winner. BAY VENUS held her speed well into the stretch, then suddenly weakened, as if short for the effort. MOUCHE was crowded and taken back a couple of times after the start, then lost ground racing around horses. DELVE AROUND was shut off at the far turn. NOT IDLE was done early. FUDGE KING was smartly rated racing with the pace from the beginning and withstood a prolonged drive under steady hand urging. MARSAM was bumped wide by POST PAID at the first turn, was intermittently urged racing around horses into contention, then could not stay with the winner entering the" stretch, but was closing in gamely at the end. WARM ENOUGH improved position racing on the outside and finished well for his placing. LADY ELEANOR weakened after six furlongs. POST PAID was blocked and forced out into MARSAM at the first turn and raced behind horses most of the distance. WAVETE bled in the running. APRES MOI was done after five furlongs. PORTAGE raced outside several rivals vying for the pace from the beginning, drew clear straightening into the stretch and drew away under steady pressure. EN CASSEROLE raced along in close company with the winner, was not her match in the stretch run, but held on well over HOT BLOOD. The latter, unable to keep up after the start, bore out on the turn, then finished well. TANIA was a keen contender racing next to the rail and weakened under punishment WILLIES FOLLY bumped 1 with a horse at the far turn, lost ground: outside horses,but finished well. ANNA LIVIA found a large opening making up ground in the stretch. MISS CASTLE was pinched back midway of the turn. TAMARACK was outrun. WASTREL was not ridden out while tiring. SOME CROWN was briskly urged racing into a clear lead soon after the start, increased her advantage on the turn, drifted out under punishment and bumped with j TUREE JANE in the stretch drive and Just managed to last. SOME CROWN was disqualified for impeding -TUREE JANE and she was placed second. TUREE JANE was hustled along racing between horses, challenged strongly in the upper stretch, but was bumped and forced out slightly by SOME CROWN and hung. MORE APPS J; loomed boldly saving ground on the final turn, but lacked a closing rally. MAN 0 DAY broke sluggishly and behind his field, found room between horses in the stretch and finished with a rush. VIOLI NO dropped back when steadied after the start and lacked an effective final rally. P. 0. ANNEX lost ground on the outside. OPERA LIGHT was a sharp contender from the start, raced a trifle wide on the stretch turn, then responding to sharp punishment outfinished REIGHBOUT, The latter, under pressure to reach closer contention, was steadied briefly and sent outside of horses on the final turn and closed determinedly. BELLUNO was rushed to the first flight from a slow start, had to be steadied behind rivals on the final turn, then could not get up when clear in the stretch drive. GIORGETTI, intermittently steadied and urged while forcing the pace, weakened slightly in the final test. MARYS BUBBLE gamely repulsed challengers into the stretch, then weakened. DARK PATROL was hard pressed setting the pace, offered little resistance to the winner, but held on well after being displaced. BRASS RING raced closer to the pace than usual, but lost ground coming around horses for the drive and could not get up. BLUE LAW worked forwardly between horses and finished well.
