Opera Light in Surprise Triumph at Monmouth Whips Reighabout and Belluno And Returns Mutuel of 4.80 By FRED GALIANI MONMOUTH PARK, Oceanport; N. J., June 28. The longest priced horse on the board came through in the featured Little Silver Purse here this sunny afternoon, as Charles Lawrences Opera Light flew down the middle of the track to defeat Janet Kellys Reighbout, the second choice, by a neck. A half length back in third place was Christopher Chenerys. favored Belluno in the field of seven. Opera Light, owned, trained and bred by Lawrence, practically a one man operation except for riding chores, which were handled by Willie Balzaretti, paid 4.80 to those in the crowd estimated at 12,500 who follow the old adage of betting the longest shot in a small field. The blaze faced chestnut, with four white feet, covered the six furlongs in 1:10 over the fast track. It was the first victory in 10 starts this year for Opera Light, a four-year-old son of Opera Hat Rush Light. His best previous effort was a third in a sprint race at Garden State this spring. Marys Bubble, who set a track record at this course last spring, was making his first start of the year and, showing his speed of yore, immediately sped to the front. Gior-getti, Belluno, who was off somewHat slowly, and Opera Light were in constant attendance all the way. Marys Bubble led with apparent ease to the head of the stretch, where Opera Light ranged up alongside of the fading Giorgetti as Reighbout also moved on the outside. Opera Light disposed of Marys Bubble without too much trouble but then had to contend with Reighbout. The latter closedwillingly in the stretch, putting, away Belluno, who was close, but not near enough, then went after the leader. But Opera Light was in a running mood and was not to be. denied, vigorously withstanding the Kelly horses late bid. Belluno lasted to be third over Marys Bubble, who tired in the home rush.
