The Delaware Steeplechase and Race Association Wednesday offers the third and final two-year-old event of its attractive stakes program and it shapes up as Pollys Jet, from the Barclay Stable of John McShain, against the field in the 0,000 added Dover. The Polynesian colt, unbeaten in six starts, will have a running mate in Aughill, while the balance of the opposition includes Richard A. Lewis First Lap, Leon Santores Flying Teddy, Mrs. Royal Firman, Jr.s Black Frost and Nelson W. Lodges Sparton Haste. Holds Four Stakes Victories With his six victories and earnings of 0,300, Pollys Jet has taken a toehold on divisional honors among the juvenile colts for the season. Among his triumphs, the . striking -chestnut numbers "the Juvenile, Cherry Hill, National Stallion colt division and Christiana Stakes. In the latter event, which was contested over the local track last week, he was an easy four-length winner with five furlongs in :58M- That time equaled the race record and was but one-fifth of a second slower than the track standard held by Beaugay. As in all but one of his races, trainer Russell Downes charge .will be ridden by Eddie Arcaro. Aughill, a bay son of Royal Charger, has raced but once and created a splendid impression while racing Besomer to a nose with five furlongs in :59 on a good track. In last weeks running, First Lap dueled with the unbeaten colt f or three furlongs, then found the pace too trying and finished four lengths-back in second position. Earlier this year, the son of Ky. Colonel accounted for the Lafayette Stakes at Keeneland. Job Dean Jessop returns to handle First Lap in the Dover. Aside from the aforementioned trio, there is little in the field worthy of consideration. Flying Teddy was fifth in hfs last and prior to that scored in his lone victory of a busy campaign while sporting a claiming tag of 0,000. Black Frost, after being unsuccessful in his first three starts, beat maidens here last out with five and one-half furlongs in 1:06, while Sparton Haste remains in the non-winner category. Secondary attraction on Wednesdays card is the fifth and final Montchanin Handicap, a series of races which increases weekly in value, and distance. The finale is at a mile and six furlongs for a purse of ,000. Included in the overnight field are three of the four horses tied for top spot in the standing with 36 points each. They are Plenary, Alford and Go a Bit. The other member of the quartet, Hoplite, will not compete tomorrow. Rounding out the field are Rut Out, Tip II., Chusco, Midian and Mighty Dan. An additional award of ,500 will be awarded to the owners of the horses receiving the greatest number of points. Top money is ,200, second amounts to 00, while the other awards are 00 and 00.
