Rockingham Expects 200 Horses From Other Racing Areas SALEM, N. H., June 28. Horses by the vanload will begin arriving at Rockingham Park over the week end for the start of the New Hampshire season here Monday. Racing secretary O. E. "Eb" Pons today was looking forward to the arrival of almost 200 horses from the Maryland, New Jersey and Delaware circuits who will be shipped in to add a little spice to the 30-day meeting, which opens on July 4. Among the trainers who will ship their stables here are Frank Wright, Cary Bos-hamer, Jimmy Stewart, Jimmy Rowan, Ed Voss, Jr., Tom Waller, George Burns and Glenn Smith. Included in these shipments will be several horses who shape up as probable starters in Rockinghams openings-day feature, the Independence Day Purse, an overnight allowance event at six furlongs for a purse of ,500. Pons anticipates a field of eight or nine for the holiday headliner, with First Served and Do Report, from Wrights stable, a possible entry. Mrs. Henry A. Parr ms Nick Jimmie, in Rowans barn, is also a possible starter, while others who are eying the event include Soldier Son, My Banker, Noble Try, Eternal Mark, Switch On and Blessbull.
