Sacramento Solon pitcher Johnny Briggs today laughed off a report he was seeking a 40,000 bonus before signing with the Baltimore Orioles. "Its all news to me," said Briggs. "I didnt even know that Paul Richards Oriole manager had offered Sacramento 0,000 for me. This whole thing is funny." Richards was quoted in Baltimore as saying he made a 0,000 offer for Briggs services. Briggs said he did not know where the report originated that he was asking 40,000 bonus.
