H. was close to the pace from the start and, catching DEBBIE ANN on the stretch turn, saved ground to open up on the field and was well in front and going easily coming to the end. CORDITE began slowly and trailed for half the distance, then came well to be easily best of the others. DEBBIE ANN had something removed making the pace and had little left for the run through the stretch. HIT ME made up some ground. SKY HALL and OPTIMUM had some early speed but tired. DOCTOR HEITZ was rated while following the pace of JUMBO LIES closely to the stretch, then forged to the front and. had enough left to hold JIPA JAPA. The latter, never far away, moved up steadily on the outside in the stretch and was gaining slowly. CABOOSE closed fast to best STEADY JET. The latter raced evenly.
