5,000 ThistleDown Handicap Draws Thirty-Four Nominees THISTLEDOWN, North Randall, Ohio, June 28. Racing secretary Fred Burton today released the list of nominees for the 5,000 added ThistleDown Handicap which will headline the nine-race program here on Saturday, July 9. A total of 34 handicap performers have been made eligible for this one mile and three-sixteenths test, the second richest stake carded during the current meeting.-" The list of nominees is headed by the high ranking British four-year-old, Marshall Ney II., who ran third in the 1954 Cambridgeshire in England.
