NICKS GAL, a keen factor from the start, responded to strong handling during the drive and, disposing of DAN PAT, held FIREY IMP safe. The latter raced evenly to the stretch, drifted out during the drive and co could not get to the winner, but wore down DAN PAT in the last strides. The latter went to the front after "leaving the upper turn, settled in the stretch with a clear lead, then faltered when challenged by NICKS GAL. XENOS FIRST had no excuse.
