OFF AT 1:15 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good for all but BATTLE TANK. Won driving. DELTA VEE, away fast, settled into the stretch with a good lead but was hard ridden during the drive to withstand BATTLE TANK. The latter, away poorly, was hard hustled after the start to reach serious contention and finished willingly but could not overtake the winner, although probably best. HIGH TONE RUBY lacked early foot and was unable to threaten the leaders. HAPPY HAL tired after showing early speed. CLEMATIS had no mishap. GO BOGIE GO raced wide. SHUU saved ground while racing within striking distance of the leaders to the stretch, remained next to the inner rail and, after taking command, drew clear without need of urging. ADOLPHS JOY reached the lead between calls during the drive but was not good enough for the top one. SON 0 DOGE lacked early foot, but finished fast. ZACADOGE was unable to better his position during the drive. LIGHT MUSIC took an early lead and made the pace for a half mile while under pressure from ADOLPHS JOY, but had nothing left. COFFEE FLAVOR was never dangerous. PARTY NEWS could not keep up. CLOCKODEMA raced wide entreing the stretch. ACHILLEUS and GREAT PARTY were never in serious contention. DEVALUATION raced EASY PREY into defeat entering the stretch and, continuing gamely under urging, retaineda safe advantage. PROUD PATRIOT bore out at the stretch turn and then closed determinedly but could not reach the winner. DARK VIKING began sluggishly and raced wide through the stretch. EASY PREY set the pace for a half mile but gave way when challenged by DEVALUATION. ALHAMBRA CIRCLE could not keep up. SIR RAMBLER and JANISSAR were never dangerous. FOURTH RACE 5 FURLONGS. BRICKWORK, away fast, set the pace until challenged by the winner and was not good enough for the latter. VINEYARD, away poorly, raced wide entering the stretch and was unable to threaten the leaders when straight in the drive. BASSO began slowly and bore out through the stretch. C0R0EBUS settled into the stretch with a good lead but was unable to withstand the top one. CUMBERLAND GAP could not threaten the leaders when set down in the drive. VERTEX took command from TALENT SHOW after a half mile and, settling into the stretch with a short lead, responded to strong handling and retained a safe advantage. BIG EFFORT raced within striking distance of the leaders from the outset, made a bold bid entering the stretch but was not good enough for VERTEX, although giving a splendid performance. DAY COURT attempted to drift out at the initial turn, bore to the outside entering the stretch and then finished strongly when straight for the drive but was unable to reach the leaders". TALENT SHOW went to the front at once, gave way to VERTEX when settled in the backstretcn and, caught in tight quarters at the final turn, faltered during the drive. GENERAL ARTHUR closed determinedly and had no mishap. GREY MONARCH lacked early foot and raced wide. A DRAGON KILLER was never prominent. PIANO JIM bore out the entire trip. CROSS CHANNEL could not keep up. DOTTED LINE broke slowly and could not enter serious contention.
