Californian Roster Includes Tomy Lee Seaneen, Hillsdale, Social Climber, Royal Living Eye Hollywoods 00,000 Test HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood, Calif., May 9. — Handicap champions from all sections of the country, including the past two winners, and 1959 Kentucky Derby winner Tomy Lee, have been nominated for the 00,000-added Californian, first of the five "hundred-granders" at Hollywood Park this season. The 1 1-16 miles classic will be run Saturday, May 23. Neil McCarthys Seaneen and Llangollen Farms Social Climber, both of whom whipped money - winning champ Round Table in the past two renewals, werand named on the roster of 39 nominees released by racing secretary John Maluvius. In addition to the previous Californian winners, six others who have won 00,000 events were nominated. Heading the list of eastern stars are Brookmeade Stables Oligarchy, winner of the Widener Handicap last year, and Mrs. Tilyou Christophers Amerigo, who narrowly missed joining the ranks of hundred-grander winners by losing a neck verdict to Vertex in the recent Gulfstream Park Handicap. Hillsdale 59 Money Leader Western stars nominated include C. W. Smiths Hillsdale, the nations current money-leader among the handicap performers and the Santa Anita Maturity winner. Poltex Stable and Roland Bonds Terrang, who won the Santa Anita Handicap, and Llangollens Royal Living, who captured the San Juan Capistrano, also are listed.
