55 Pet. Favorites Win at Weymouth The Weymouth Fair meeting, held in South Weymouth, Mass., recorded the highest percentage of winning: favorites of any racetrack in the United States last year. Racing statistics in the 1959 American Racing Manual now on sale show that 55 per cent of the favorites won during Weymouths August 11-16 meet. The Humboldt County Fair session at Ferndale, Calif., was second with 50 per cent winning favorites. Cumberland Md. Fair was third with 48 per cent. Nationwide, 35 per cent of the favorites justified their backing. The Manuals percentages are based on 32,208 races.
