MARIBU, outrun for the first half mile, moved into the lead entering the stretch 5 and held on under pressure to hold CALS CHOICE. The latter had the iead going down the backstretch and gave way to the winner while swinging slightly wide on the stretch turn and came again on the inside and - under hard urging while wearing the winner down. JOHNS BID moved up steadily while saving ground, i CAMELBACK made a strong move to take command on the first turn and gave way on the far turn. »j RETOBADO II. was never prominent. EXULTANT, well placed in the early stages while on the outside, improved his position rounding the stretch turn, took the lead after being straightened away and, under mild urging, drew out. PHILGLAN set a fast pace to the far turn, then gave way and came again in the last sixteenth. CILCENNIN moved up to take the lead on the backstretch and gave way under pressure in the stretch. KNIGHTS REWARD raced evenly while saving ground. FRENCH LEGION was never prominent. STROLLER gave an even performance. MIGHTY ACE had the lead from the start, set the pace to midway in the stretch and then weakened under pressure. SAR-HAR improved her position steadily in the final stages while saving ground. BLAZING ROCKET made up a lot of ground while on the inside in the last quarter. LONGONE closed steadily between horses. GOOD CLEAN FUN weakened after forcing the pace to the far turn.
