Grand Chal Awaits 4 Miles Glouchester Plate Saturday MEDIA, Pa., May 9.— Grand Chal, last seasons timber racing champion, will compete in the ,000 Gloucester Fox Hunters Plate, feature of a seven-race program to be staged by the Rose Tree Fox Hunt Club here next Saturday. The feature will be contested over 4 miles and 21 timber fences. The afternoons first race will start at 2 oclock. Grand Chal, owned by Alfred H. Smith of Upper Marlboro, Md., won seven of his 15 starts over timber last year. He boasts three firsts and two seconds in his five outings this season, his triumphs being registered in the Carolina Cup at Camden, S. C, Deep Run Hunt Cup, Richmond, Va., and Middleburg Va. Hunt Cup.
