Stallion Xavier Dead WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, HI.. May 23.— Paul Serdar, owner of Locust Lawn Farm, near Wadsworth, 111., the home of the stallions Parasang, Count Domino and Corona Corona, yesterday announced the death of the 16-year-old bay Xavier. The latter had sired some useful runners in his earlier stud career, but for several years had been used as a teaser. Ordinarily a mild-mannered horse, Xavier suddenly went berserk in his stall, crashed through the door and attempted to attack Parasang, who was quartered nearby. The latter was uninjuredV but Xavier suffered a broken leg and had to be. destroyed. Xavier, son of Whichone — Xanthina, by My Play, was bred by C. V. Whitney and was later owned by Otto Lehmann and the late Wesley M. Sears. He won the Puritan Handicap and placed in several stakes, including the King Philip Handicap and Illinois Derby.
