Ira Hanford Shoots 84 To Take Jockey Golf Title GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 23.— Jockey Ira Hanford utilized his cool head and steady hands in another sport as he shot a creditable 84 to grab the jockey title in the Garden State Park golf tournament at the Woodbury, N. J., Country Club. Hanfords Calloway system handicap for the championship round this week was nine, giving him a winning net score of 75. Hanford generally shoots in the high 70s, but he was slightly off his game on the tricky par 73 Woodbury layout. Another veteran campaigner, Jimmy Stout, registered a 90 gross, 76 net, for second place. Lawrence Hansman was third among the jockets with a 98-77. In the owner-trainer division of the tournament, Herb Schoch showed the way with an 84-73. Other net scores in the division were: Robert Daust, 73%; Frank Catrone, . 76; Can Hanford, -76; Whitey Nixon, 771/£; Phil Goodwin, 78, and Bill Raymond, 79. The other divisional winners were: Danny Broic, jockey agent, 84-73. Harold Money, mutuel department, 72-72. Ken Lennox, officials, 103-75
