Ohio State Beats Legislation To Force Live Grid Telecasts COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 23 UP.— Ohio State was the winner today in its battle to talk the Ohio legislature out of forcing the university to televise its football games next fall. The Ohio Senate Judiciary Committee dumped a bill to coerce the Big Ten school into televising its "games into the legislative ash can yesterday. -A move was made to report the bill out for passage but the committee took no action on the request following a talk by RepT Robert Shaw. The bill, considerably watered-dowri from its original version, would b*ve required the university to televise its games only if it could obtain permission from the Western Conference. A clause also forbade televising the games in theaters if they were not also televised to homes.
