Count Turf Gets Top Jersey Handicap Impost Derby Winner Has 126 Pounds to Carry in Garden State Fixture GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 23. — Racing secretary and handicap-per. M. C. "Ty" Shea rated J. J. Amiels winner of the 77th Kentucky Derby, Count Turf, as a 126 pounds highweight in the list of imposts released this morning for the 0,000 added Jersey Handicap. Battle Born, Uncle Miltie and Yildiz were each_ assigned 120 pounds, with the remainder of the 59 nominees scaling down to 107 The Jersey Handicap is the richest event to be run in New Jersey, and is a searching test for three-year-olds at the one mile and a quarter Derby distance. Unlike the Kentucky Derby and the Belmont Stakes, which are run under scale weights, and the Preak-ness, an allowance affair, the Garden State Park version permits the leading candidates of their division to be brought together by handicaps.
