The Marteek Stables seven-year-old son of Mahmoud, ; has been competing in races at a mile or over, and although unable to chalk up any victories, he has shown real early speed, several times setting the pace to well into the stretch. From his trials here recently he should be able to give a good performance. Another California invader is MonBaiser, who will be making a real try for the winners share of the purse.., The E. C. Campbell sprinter has lots of early speed, and may be able to stay the distance. The twilight event also has attracted such as June Bonus, Butch K. and Sea Phantom.
