Start good from stall gate. Won ridden out; second and third driving. RUDYS STAR opened a commanding lead at once, was placed under steadying restraint while saving ground, responded gamely when roused and held the lead under light urging. PLAYANNA closed weir on the outside, neared the pace, but was unable to menace inthe late stages. TATTOO forced the pace after a quarter mile, but lacked a closing rally. YAZDEGERD. had no mishap. SOCIAL SIDE finished with a mild rush. ROFFIE raced evenly. BE PROUD showed nothing. GREY BEARD flashed good early speed, went wide leaving the backstretch and was unable to make up lost ground through the stretch. A HENRY was outrun. HENRY PAYNE forced the pace and held on stubbornly. THOUSAND SHIPS worked his way up between horses to close with good energy. TOOTSIE McCABE saved ground to better late position. FRANCS CRACKER weakened after forcing the pace. TYROL was in close quarters most of the trip. U. S. MARY showed speed for a half mile, then tired. KNIGHTS DOLL was never prominent. EASY PADDY broke alertly, gave way momentarily cn the far turn, regained the lead, drew clear and was under light pressure to the end. PAPAYA assumed command along the inside, was unable to draw clear, came to the outside in the stretch and closed willingly. INTERFERE moved into contention after three furlongs, but failed to make up appreciable ground at the end. YOULL LEARN showed speed in forcing the pace, weakening in the final furlong. BUDLANE had no mishap. EASY DUST war through early. WESTERN NIGHT, sluggish in the early stages, was unable to make up ground under pressure. USUAL and BALLET DANCER were outrun. HEAVENLY TUNE moved along the inside to near the leader before a quarter mile, was taken to the outside on the turn, assumed command when put to pressure and drew clear. BERTHA ANN established the pace to the final quarter mile and held on gamely after giving way. BLUE PATH rallied mildly in the late stages. QUEEN. CHlCA went evenly. SHOPPING SPREE rushed boldly along the rail in the stretch, but was unable to menace. MODEL HOME broke sluggishly. GRAY RONALD was outrun. RED WHEAT INJURED HIMSELF IN THE BARRIER AND WAS ORDERED SCRATCHED. ALL MONIES WAGERED ON RED WHEAT WERE ORDERED REFUNDED. ALSIRAL moved gradually to near contention on the final turn, responded to late pressure, overtook the leaders inside the final sixteenth and drew clear ICE CAP moved rapidly along the rail to assume the early lead, gave way on the far turn, regained the lead and drew clear in the stretch, but was not good enough. GALLA BABE rushed on the outside to engage the leader after a quarter mile, assumed command under urging,. then faltered. OUR BULLY, in close quarters to the stretch, lacked a closing rally. WOLF WHISTLE was in between horses and had no chance to run until late in the stretch. MISS KAZOO showed nothing. RAY K. was eased back when caught in tight along the -inside and failed to recover. CRYSTAL PASS broke alertly, was kept within striking distance of the leader, rallied when put to pressure, gained the lead before the wire and just lasted. MON TORCH, slow to settle into best stride, moved readily along the rail, was forced to take out around SCOTCH CUP and was catching the winner. SCOTCH CUP, hustled from the start, opened a comfortable lead, held on stubbornly although tiring and showed a good effort. BEACH BEAUTY had no mishap.
