OFF AT 2:17i EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won easily; second and third driving. BALMORAL joined the leader on the turn, wrested command and drew clear to an easy win. CONSERVATION engaged the leaders when able to move through along the inside, but was no match for the winner. HAPPY COUNT, slow to settle into stride, was bothered slightly in the early stretch while rallying. GAY BEAUTY held the lead briefly between the calls along the backstretch, then weakened MARY ANN was hard pressed throuahout and faltered. CHANTER was outrun. H., always formidable, was cautiously handled while circling the leaders to assume command, then drew clear to win easily. NICK BLOOM made up ground steadily in a good effort. BON LYNN, allowed to drop out of contention early, raced wide while rallying and closed best of all. BO MOWLEE was caught in close quarters in the early stretch while attempting to rally. SHINE ON took the overland course and failed to seriously threaten. ETERNAL STAR quit. EAST IS EAST stopped to a walk after dueling for the lead through the opening half mile. COUNT STEEL was hard pressed for the lead and stopped to a walk. FRIAR TUCK lacked room along the inside on the turn. NASSOON, in close attendance to the pace of MAKE SWAY, assumed command when that one faltered and was urged to hold BRIGHT BONES safe. The latter saved ground to threaten, but was not good enough. MAKE SWAY sprinted clear early and quit. SIR CROSS closed ground in the final test. JUST ABBE failed to respond, BONED UP moved menacingly on the turn and weakened. CAMPER raced wide and faltered when the real test came. MERRY SIZZLE showed nothing: MELVIN R. was through early, as was BOSS LEAVING. BLUE CROWN made up ground steadily in a good effort. LOWER THE BOOM was prominent to the stretch and gave way. JOANNYS JILL raced wide and showed little. SAPLING could not. keep up. BALD HILL BOY weakened after reaching contention boldly. BARBY BET closed willingly. DEFICIT weakened, as did OHIO BOY. VIRGINIA GENT seemed unable to handle the footing. THE PINCHER raced on the outside while holding a narrow advantage over MAHOON for a half mile, then drew clear steadily to win with speed in reserve. LARAN, outrun early, closed well along the inside and outfinished the others. MILLDALE raced evenly and without mishap.
